A better kind of contribution

RootWell is not a Yelp-style church directory. We do not use public star ratings, pastor rankings, worship-team rankings, or open complaint threads. Community contributions should help someone understand what a church community may feel like without turning people into products or arguments.

Visit Perspectives

A Visit Perspective should be first-hand, respectful, specific enough to be useful, and free from identifying details about other people. Speak from your own experience: what helped you feel welcomed, how you found community, or what practical context might help another person prepare for a visit.

Do not present personal experience as a universal fact. A Visit Perspective should not claim to speak for an entire congregation, staff, leadership team, demographic group, or theological tradition.

What does not belong here

Do not submit content that includes:

  • Personal allegations, unverified accusations, or attempts to investigate or expose a person.
  • Names, photos, contact details, schedules, or other identifying information about children or other private individuals.
  • Hateful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or violent content.
  • Advertising, fundraising, recruiting, campaign messaging, or promotion unrelated to helping someone understand a church community.
  • Targeted harassment, retaliation, pile-ons, or content intended to damage a person or church rather than share a respectful experience.

Media and community content

Only share media that you have permission to use and that does not reveal private or sensitive information. Church representatives are responsible for ensuring they have needed rights, likeness permissions, and any required permission for minors before they submit photos, video, livestream links, or other materials.

RootWell may request source context, add provenance labels, or limit how content appears. Do not submit material copied from another person or organization without permission.

Review, reporting, and removal

RootWell may review contributions before or after publication. We may redact, remove, limit, or decline content that does not follow these guidelines or that raises privacy, safety, rights, or accuracy concerns. We may also act on a report without publishing the details of our review.

To report a Visit Perspective, media item, profile detail, or other concern, email RootWell with the page or campus involved and a concise explanation.

Contact RootWell at team@rootwellapp.madethis.app.

Contributor identity

RootWell does not disclose a contributor's identity to a church merely because the contributor submitted a Visit Perspective or report. Contributions and reports may still be reviewed under RootWell's internal processes, and contributors should avoid sharing information they would not want included in that review.
